The land I call home

Chocolate, brown, yellow, pale,
white, black & all in between are my people.
Varied tongues and varied sounds,
Different shapes and different crowns,
this is the land that I call home.

From dawn to dusk to midnight to twilight,
eating for us not just in day light,
hot, cold, flat, spicy, pungent,
varity to the stomach for us is abundant,
this is the land that I call home.

Divide us people, that’s what politicians do!
Steal from us , that’s what corporations do!
Stereotype us, that what racist do!
Fighting them has to continue
This is the land that I call home.

Proud I am of the twin towers,
tall & majestic they are in the skies of ours,
tall & shameful too are our corruption index,
bad too at good governance & human rights index,
This is the land that I call home.

Every home has it's issues,
our brothers and sisters are not the same,
look at our fingers, it explains!
fingers come together for a common cause,
so should we brethren whatever the cost!
This is the land that I call home
